Hi, I’m Sarah, the founder of The Warwickshire Review. My mission is to make shopping small and local both simple and rewarding here in Warwickshire. Since I was 19, I’ve been running my own businesses, and now, at 27, my passion is helping other small businesses gain the visibility they deserve so they can thrive and continue to do what they love and what they do best!
One of the reasons I started The Warwickshire Review comes from my own journey as a small business owner. At the age of 19 I taught myself how to design and handprint ceramic coffee mugs, which I sold online. Orders were coming in from all over the world – from the USA to Germany, Italy, France, and even Australia – but hardly any locally. As a micro business, I found it hard to be found by locals, and near impossible to get affordable local exposure. When I started delving into the world of marketing I realised many other small businesses were facing the same challenge.
Our Mission
That’s when I made it my mission to help small business owners like me by launching a blog in 2019. At first, I just wanted to share the stories of a few businesses I knew, but I quickly realised the need for something more comprehensive. There are so many directories out there, but they either cover the whole UK or focus on just one town. I don’t know about you, but sometimes I want to discover what’s outside my immediate area – somewhere within travelling distance, but not across the country. And I want to know who’s behind the business…because at the end of the day that’s what makes supporting small so special.
Why?
That’s where The Warwickshire Review comes in. We cover the entire county, giving you an easy way to explore businesses in your town as well as discover new places just a short drive away. And we highlight the person behind the business….because people buy from people! What started as a simple blog has grown into a platform that helps small businesses across Warwickshire get the exposure they deserve, and I’ve fallen in love with this mission.
