Our initiative aims to energise Southam and its surrounding villages by boosting local businesses and fostering community spirit. We create awareness and visibility for entrepreneurs, through workshops, events, and shared workspaces. By highlighting what’s available in our town, we aim to attract more visitors, making Southam a vibrant hub for residents and newcomers alike. ⭐ In-Person Social Networking Events
Join us at a free networking event! Our in-person socials, are held once a month to bring local business owners together in a relaxed and informal setting, which is free to attend. A space to connect with other local business owners, share, support, grow together, and explore how we can better the community.
⭐ Workshops
Attend or give a workshop on a variety of areas for the community. These show and tell talks from local business owners offer our community knowledge and expertise in different fields.
⭐ Community Events
Events where local businesses and the community come together. Trade at one of our events to support and bring together the community.
⭐ Business advertising and promotion
We offer business advertising at an affordable cost to help promote visibility. We also provide business support on where you can find support and funding.

Meet the person behind the business:
Southam Business Community CIC was founded by Larissa Redman-Windsor in 2023 , as a sole trader and working from home she wanted to reach out to her local community to connect with other local business owners and find out how the community was benefiting from having these local businesses. After attending a local monthly market she noticed there was a great selection of small businesses right on her doorstep alongside a handful of independent shops on the high street. The question was how do we bring out the best of our local businesses and how do we best help and benefit the local community? The answer: Through socials, workshops and events! After some research and business support Larissa found the best way to do this was through a CIC (Community Interest Company) A community interest company (CIC) is a type of business entity that is set up to benefit the community or a particular group of people. It operates like a regular company but must adhere to certain regulations and guidelines in order to maintain its status as a CIC. These guidelines include using its profits for the benefit of the community, having a social or environmental purpose, and being accountable to the community it serves. It is a non for profit and any profits made go back into the CIC to support it’s goals.

To date we have held over 18 social sessions, held our first business fair in 2023 and had a mentored workshop. We look to continue this going forward!
