Meet the person behind the business:
I graduated from Coventry University before qualifying as a Solicitor in 1989. I joined Willsons Solicitors in 1991 and grew the family law department, and began the Care Department in the firm, and grew that.
Willsons Solicitors was established by my husband, Robert Willson, and we worked together for almost 30 years. Sadly my husband died in 2023, and the running of the firm then fell to me. I have managed to maintain and grow the firm, with the help of everyone at Willsons, it certainly has been a total group effort, and I have been fully supported by all of the Partners and staff at Willsons. Willsons now has 48 employees, and it is vital to me to carry on my husband’s legacy and ensure that all members of the team are thriving, and feel supported.
In my fee earning role, I act for both children and parents, foster carers and relatives in cases involving social care and I also undertakes all family work also acting for divorcing and separating couples involving disputes regarding their children . I attend Court to represent clients both in the local family Court in Nuneaton and in the County Court in Coventry or Birmingham.
It is important to me that clients are at ease and I am able to provide a sensible overview to my clients as to the likely outcome of the case and explain clearly what the Court’s approach to their case is likely to be, guiding them through the whole legal process.
Outside of work, I am the Chair of DACS (Domestic Abuse Counselling Service), a charitable organisation offering counselling to the victims of domestic abuse in Nuneaton and Warwickshire.
I love to cook and eat out. I relax by attending several yoga classes a week, and walking my dog!
