Designs As Individual As Your Home

Mickie Fenwick Wilson, your best source for Soft Furnishings in Warwickshire, set up Soft Furnishings by Mickie over ten years ago. We caught up with her back in 2019, talking all things fabric as she celebrated her 10th year of business. Click here to read the article.

She’s been keeping very busy over the last two years but she managed to squeeze us in for a catch up this week; whilst packing and moving her stock two doors down!

This soft furnishings pro has been on the move in Dunchurch this week as she relocated her shop to a new spot from number 61 The Square to 59. So don’t worry, you can still find Mickie in The Square sewing away on her latest made to measure, soft furnishings project.

Mickie has been in The Square at Dunchurch for over eight years and has become part of the heart of the community. When she was forced to close the store following government guidelines, she made use of her skills to make scrub bags and headbands for masks for our local NHS Doctors and Nurses.

She kept busy providing the local community with fabric patches, encouraging others to get crafting and sharing each other’s beautiful creations. Mickie told us she adored seeing what people had made, with people creating all sorts from their own sensory toys to cushion covers.

As well as packing up and then unpacking all of her stock, getting her new store ready to welcome back her lovely customers and creating beautiful designs for them, Mickie has been working hard getting her new website ready for launch!

She told us how much the pandemic forced her to reassess how much she utilised the web for her business. With everything heading online as the shops shut up and businesses being forced to close, Soft Furnishings by Mickie had time to invest in their online presence.

As we’ve all been stuck in our homes and gardens for the last year, most of us have done some redecorating. We’ve had the time to look at our homes and begin creating spaces that feel like ours; for comfort, enjoyment and expression.

Mickie works hard alongside her customers to help you create soft furnishings that are truly unique for your home. She told us she’s felt the big boom in people redecorating and renovating their homes and has been able to work hard with plenty of new and existing customers on creative projects.

Offering an array of services to complete those lovely details to your living space, Soft Furnishings by Mickie provides unique curtains and blinds, beautifully designed wallpaper and paints, cushions, covers and so much more. With over 25 years experience working in the soft furnishings industry, you can trust that all those finer details are taken care of by this passionate local business owner.

We asked Mickie what helped her most getting through the pandemic and she told us how supportive her customers had been. She is incredibly grateful for her loyal customers, new and old, who have kept her busy throughout the pandemic.

Mickie said even the small things made such a difference for the business; as she began to focus on increasing her social media presence, customers would send kind messages and share her content. She wanted us to pass on her thanks to all of you for being such a wonderful, supportive community, both locally and online.

And it seems the focus on building her online presence has paid off; Mickie told us she’s been getting plenty of business through her various platforms. And now, with the launch of her new website, Soft Furnishings by Mickie is really embracing the digital age.
