Esme Griffiths Art – Pet Portraits & Wildlife Drawings

Esme graduated from Loughborough University with a first class honours degree in printed textiles and knew straight away she wanted to work for herself. Setting up Esme Griffiths Art after her graduation in September 2018 she combined her love for drawing and passion for nature and animals, specialising in creating beautiful coloured pencil portraits of pets and wildlife.

Born and bred in Warwickshire, this local artist told us how much she loves living in the area and what a perfect location it is for getting lost in the countryside. With great spots to take her ten month old vizsla pup and plenty of National Trust sites to visit for some super special doses of nature, Esme loves living and working in Warwickshire. Finding inspiration on many of her ventures, Esme produces stunning illustrations of British Wildlife using extraordinary detail.

This animal loving artist also creates commissioned illustrations of pets such as dogs, cats and horses, British wildlife and farm animals. Her highly detailed pencil drawings blur the lines between photographs and art, capturing the heart and soul of your beloved animal in a beautiful piece of art that you and your loved ones can treasure forever.

The essence of your beloved animal’s character is expertly captured in Esme’s highly detailed pencil drawings. Her attention to detail goes above and beyond capturing the soul of her subject; she pays particular attention to her tools too.

She told us each of her pieces is lovingly created using hot pressed paper, allowing her professional quality pencils to layer and blend on the page. Her high quality pencils have a high lightfast so the colours don’t fade, which means you can proudly display and admire your pet portrait for a lifetime.

Esme is a solo artist who works alone on all her commissioned and original coloured pencil drawings but her creative streak doesn’t stop there; this business owner also designed her own website and regularly creates new products featuring some of her illustrations.

So as well as her original drawings, you can also get your hands on a wide variety of products such as tote bags, greeting cards, gift tags, prints and ceramic home decorations featuring Esme’s intricate artwork; bringing the beautiful into your every day. Esme told us she has also been working on some Limited Edition prints of pets and wildlife, so keep your eyes peeled for their release!

Whilst she works single handedly on the creative elements of the business, Esme says she couldn’t do any of it without the love and support she gets from her family and friends. Her mum, Amanda is always on hand to help package up portraits and online orders as well as helping out at shows and markets. Her family and best friend help her to set up and sell on the stalls, passionately supporting Esme and her creative venture.

Esme also gave credit to Millican, their wire haired vizsla who keeps her company in the studio when she is hard at work creating your commissions. Millican has been by her side during the Covid-19 pandemic, whilst this local artist has been growing her collection of original artwork and products.

She told us how lockdowns had affected some of her plans to attend more fairs and markets last year. But with in-person events halted, Esme started getting involved in some online markets and growing her social presence to connect with customers and other artists.

With many events now going ahead, Esme is starting to fill her calendar! Last weekend saw this local artist attend her biggest event yet at Leamington Spa’s Art in the Park and she told us how pumped she felt about future face to face events. Keep updated on future events where you can find Esme Griffiths Art over on her events page here.

So whether you are looking for a special gift for a loved one, an affordable illustrated product for yourself or maybe you want to pay tribute to a pet who has passed away, Esme can work with you to create something truly unique to your beloved animal.
