Stratford MP Opens New Nursery in Snitterfield

Stratford MP officially opens brand new Snitterfield nursery

A brand-new nursery for the Stratford area has been officially opened by local MP Nadhim Zahawi, who hailed it as, “one of the finest nurseries” in the area.

Little Dragon’s Day Nursery has opened its doors in the Methodist Church in Snitterfield near Stratford following a full refurbishment to transform it into the perfect nursery environment. The business is the dream of local mum-of-three Kate McLeod, who wanted to open a nursery in the village she used to teach in.

Little Dragon’s now offers top quality nursery care for children aged from three months up to five years, with dedicated rooms for different age groups, an on-site chef and outdoor space for them to enjoy.

An official launch on Friday (September 10th) was attended by local MP Nadhim Zahawi, who said: “Having served as Children and Families Minister, I’m extremely passionate about child development both locally and nationally.

“It’s incredibly important to have a facility such as this available to Snitterfield and the surrounding communities. It is clear from the passion, the love, the design and the thought that has gone into this project, this could be one of the finest nurseries in Stratford-upon-Avon. I’m very proud to be here today to help support the Little Dragon’s Day Nursery.”

Little Dragon’s offers an inspirational Early Years setting where all children can be happy and flourish.

It offers a Baby Room for children aged three months, including a designated sleep area and a range of stimulating experiences. When children are developmentally ready, they progress to the Little Dragon’s Tweenie Room that aims to support the transition for children as they learn to walk, as well as access to the outdoors and a cosy quiet area for when they need to rest. A third room, the Preschool Room, is aimed at children aged three to five and offers an environment rich in resources that encourages children to explore and experiment as they transition from babyhood to childhood.

Little Dragon’s has a highly-qualified team with an excellent understanding of child development, as well as a dedicated chef who prepares healthy, nutritious and tasty meals on-site for all children.

The nursery also offers an extensive outdoor area where children can learn and play in a safe, fun environment.

Kate McLeod, who runs Little Dragon’s alongside husband Neil, said: “Little Dragon’s is a family venture that we have wanted to embark on for several years now. As well as being a mother-of- three I’ve worked as a teacher for 12 years, including a period at Snitterfield School, so this wasn’t just practically the perfect place for a nursery, but somewhere that really does mean something to us as a family and a community we want to be part of.

“As Mr Zahawi said, we’ve worked hard to create a nursery that will offer everything local families and children need. Our aim is to create an environment where children learn and flourish – a truly ‘child-focused’ enabling environment that ensures all children are fully immersed in high-quality, purposeful play and are therefore happy, learning and developing at all times.”
