Albie & Lonnie’s Defies Disastrous Year With Expansion To Second Store

Popular clothing retailer Albie & Lonnie’s is forging ahead with plans to expand to a second location despite the latest coronavirus lockdown. The Rugby-based business has had to postpone plans to open the doors to its second store in Market Harborough until after the four-week lockdown but still plans to wow the town with its range of men’s and ladieswear ranges to suit all ages and tastes.
The move comes amid a difficult year for retail following the coronavirus lockdown that saw Albie & Lonnie’s not only close its doors during the national lockdown, but also suffer a huge loss of business due to the cancellation of hundreds of weddings.
The business, which launched womenswear just before lockdown on March 23rd, set up an online store so people from across the country could order their favourite looks from home, and has been keeping people looking and feeling good since it reopened its doors in June. The latest lockdown has seen the store focus again on its online offering as well as preparing the new Market Harborough store ready for when it can finally open its doors.
Founder Dave Hall said: “The opportunity came up for us to open a second store in Market Harborough came up before news of the latest lockdown and we decided to go for it. Obviously it’s a worrying time but we’ve got such great support from our loyal customers who have been coming in to shop safely in the Rugby store as well as purchasing clothes online that we’re hoping we can survive this. We’re still looking forward to taking our unique service to Market Harborough.

“When we can finally open the doors we’ll be providing the same great menswear and womenswear and the unique Albie & Lonnie’s experience – getting to know our customers, finding them exactly the right look and making sure they leave feeling great as well as looking great. We can’t wait to show everyone our new store but in the meantime they can browse all our great ranges on our online store and get ready to show them off after lockdown.”

The Albie & Lonnie’s store in Market Harborough will feature the same ranges of menswear, with designers including Marc Darcy, Blend, Casual Friday, MAC Jeans and Guide London. The store will also stock 2Blind2C – Albie & Lonnie’s is the only UK supplier of this Danish brand.

It will also feature womenswear ranges including jeans, jumpers, tops, t-shirts, skirts, jackets, dresses and blouses from brands including Denim Hunter, Culture AX Paris and YEST.
